Our honey is organic for three different reasons:

• First of all because our bees collect nectar from Kythnos’ self-sown plants and not from intensive farming lands that may have been sprayed with pesticides.
• We only use pure essential oils and acids to treat bee diseases. We never ever treat our bees with antibiotics.
• Last but not least, we always leave some honey in the hive for our bees. Just because we don’t want to feed our bees sweet substitutes, such as sugar and glucose. And this is what gives us the right to say that “our honey contains nothing but honey”.

Organic beekeeping is not an easy choice. It comes with many difficulties. And it requires a lot of time and energy, compared to conventional beekeeping.

However the end result is always rewarding. Not in terms of quantity, but in terms of quality. And that’s the most important thing for us.
